Shelomith ~ ሰሎሚት: “Shelomith” means peaceful / SBD, (ዘሌ 24:11)

The name ‘Shelomith’ is derived from ‘Selamayt’ (ሰላማይት) ፥ the meaning is ‘peaceable’ / Ibid.

The daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan, “... and his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:” (Lev 24:11)

Other people with the same name are: The daughter of Zerubbabel (1 Chr 3:19); Chief of the Izharites (1 Chr 23:18); A descendant of Eliezer the son of Moses, in the reign of David (1 Chr 26:25, 26, 28); A Gershonite (1 Chr 23:9); One whose sons returned from Babylon with Ezra (Ezr 8:10); “Of the Izharites; Shelomoth: of the sons of Shelomoth; Jahath.” The same as Shelomith- (1 Chr 24:22)

ሰሎሚት ~Shelomith, Shelomoth: ሰላሚት፣ ሰላማዊት፣ አማናዊት፣ ደህንነት ማለት ነው።

‘ሰላም’ ከሚለው ቃል የተገኘ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሰባት ሰዎች አሉ።

I.                        ሰሎሚት /Shelomith:

1.                  ከዳን ወገን የሆነች የደብራይ ልጅ፥ ሰሎሚት፥ “የእስራኤላዊቱም ልጅ የእግዚአብሔርን ስም ሰደበ፥ አቃለለውም ወደ ሙሴም አመጡት። እናቱም ከዳን ነገድ የደብራይ ልጅ ነበረች፥ ስምዋም ሰሎሚት ነበረ።” (ዘሌ 24:11)

2.                  የዘሩባቤል ልጅ፥ ሰሎሚት፥ (1 ዜና 3:19)

3.                  የይስዓር ልጆች አለቃው፥ ሰሎሚት፥ (1 ዜና 23:18)

4.                  በንጉሥ ዳዊት ዘመን ከሙሴ ልጅ ወገን፣ የአልዓዛር ልጅ፣ ሰሎሚት፥  (1 ዜና 26:25፣ 26፣ 28)

5.                  የለአዳን አባቶች ቤቶች አለቃ፥ የሰሜኢ ልጅ፥ ሰሎሚት፥ (1 ዜና 23:9)

6.                  ከዕዝራ ጋር ከባቢሎን ከተመለሱ፥ የዮሲፍያ አባት፥ ሰሎሚት፥  (ዕዝ 8:10)
