Shelemiah ~ ሰሌምያ: “Shelemiah” means repaid by Jehovah / SBD, (ነህ 3:30)

The root words for ‘Shelemiah’ are ‘Selame’ (ሰላመ) and ‘Yah’ (ያህ) ፥ the meaning is ‘peace of Jehovah or the everlasthing lord’/ Ibid.

One of the sons of Bani in the time of Ezra, “After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun ...” (Neh 3:30)

Other people with the same name are: The father of Hananiah. ሰሌምያ ~Shelemiah: ሰላመ ያህ፣ የአምላክ ሰላም፣ አማነ ህያው፣ የአምላክ እርቅ፣ የአምላክ አንድነት ማለት ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስሞች- ሰሎሜ፣ ሰሎም፣ ሴሌሚ፣ ሴሌም፣ ሺሌም]

‘ሰላመ’ እና ‘ያህ’(ያህዌ ፣ ህያው) ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

በዚህ ስም የሚታወቁ ሰዎች፥

1.                  “በምሥራቅም በኩል ዕጣ ለሰሌምያ ወደቀ። ለልጁም ብልህ መካር ለሆነው ለዘካርያስ ዕጣ ጣሉ ዕጣውም በሰሜን በኩል ወጣ።” (1 ዜና 26:14)

2.                  ከግዞት ተመልሰው ኢየሩሳሌምን ካደሱ፣ የሐናንያ አባት፥ ሰሌምያ፥ (ነህ 3:30)

3.                  በመጽሐፈ ዕዝራ የተጠቀሰው የባኒ ልጅ ሰሌምያ፥ (ዕዝ 10:39)፣ (ዕዝ 10:30) 

4.                  በነህምያ  ዘመን የነበረ ካህን፥ “በዕቃ ቤቶችም ላይ ካህኑን ሰሌምያን፥ ...” (ነህ 13:13)

5.                  ንጉሡ ሴዴቅያስ፣ ወደ እግዚአብሔር ስለ እኛ ጸልይ ብሎ ወደ ኤርምያስ የላከው፥ ሰሌምያ፥ (ኤር 37:3፣ 38:1)
