Sephar ~ ስፋር: “Sephar” means a numbering / SBD, (ዘፍ 10:30)

The name ‘Sephar’ is deriven from the root  word ‘Sefere’ (ሰፈረ) ፥ The meaning is ‘to measure’ / Ibid.

“And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.” (Gen 10:30)

ስፋር ~Sephar: ስፍር፣ ልክ፣ መጠን፣ ቁጠር፣ ማለት ነው።

‘ሰፈረ’ ከሚለው ግስ የመጣ ስም ነው።

የዮቅጣን ልጆች ከኖህ የጥፋት ውኃ በኋል የኖሩበት የቦታ ስም፥ “ስፍራቸውም ከማሴ አንሥቶ ወደ ስፋር ሲል እስከ ምሥራቅ ተራራ ድረስ ነው።” (ዘፍ 10:30)
