Ararat ~ አራራት: sacred land or high land / EBD, (ዘፍ 8:4)

The name ‘Ararat’ is derived from ‘Terarat’ (ተራራ) ፥ the meaning is ‘mountains’/ Ibid.

The name of a country on one of the mountains of which the ark rested after the Flood subsided, “And the ark rested ... upon the mountains of Ararat.” (Gen 8:4)

አራራት ~Ararat: አራራት፣ ተራራት፣ ተራሮች፣ ከፍተኛ ቦታ ማለት ነው።

·                     የኖህ መርከብ ያረፈችበት ቦታ፥ “መርከቢቱም በሰባተኛው ወር ከወሩም በአሥራ ሰባተኛው ቀን በአራራት ተራሮች ላይ ተቀመጠች።” (ዘፍ 8:4)

·                     የአሦር ንጉሥ ሰናክሬ የሸሸበት ቦታ፥ “...ወደ አራራትም አገር ኰበለሉ። ልጁም አስራዶን በእርሱ ፋንታ ነገሠ” (2 ነገ 19:37)፣ (ኢሳ 37:38)
