Ava ~ አዋና: The name “Ava” means or Ivah, iniquity / HBN, (2 ነገ 17፡24)

The name ‘Ava’ is derived from ‘Hyaw’ (ህያው) ፥ the meaning is ‘the living’/ Ibid.

A place in Assyria from which colonies were brought to Samaria (2 Kin 17:24), “And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel…” (2 kin 17:24), (2 kin 18:34; 19:13; Isa 37:1)
