Ephphatha ~ ኤፍታህ: The name “Ephphatha” means be opened / EBD, HBN, (ማር 734)
The word Ephphathais derived from Ye’ftah (ፍታ) the meaning is freed, released, untie... / Ibid
Uttered by Christ when healing the man who was deaf and dumb, “And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, be opened.” Uttered by Christ when healing the man who was deaf and dumb (Mark 7:34). It is one of the characteristics of Mark that he uses the very Aramaic words which fell from our Lord's lips (See 3:17; 5:41; 7:11; 14:36; 15:34.)

ኤፍታህ ~Ephphatha: ኢፍታህ፣ ይፍታህ፣ ፍትህ አግኝ፣ ፈውስ ይስጥህ ማለ ነው። [ተዛማጅ ስሞች- ያፌት ይፍታሕ ይፍታሕኤል ዮፍታሔ ፈታያ]

ይፍታህ ከሚለው ቃል የተገኘ ነው። የቃሉ ምንጭ ደግሞ ፈታ የሚለው ነው።

ደንቆሮና ኰልታፋ የሆነውን ሰው ጌታ ለመፈወ የተጠቀመ ል፥ወደ ሰማይም አሻቅቦ አይቶ ቃተተና። ኤፍታህ አለው፥ እርሱም ተከፈት ማለት ነው። ወዲያውም ጆሮቹ ተከፈቱ መላሱም እስራት ተፈታ አጥርቶም ተናገረ።” (ማር734) ሐዋርያው ማርቆስ (ማር 3:17 5:41 7:11 14:36 15:34)
