The root words for ‘Emmanuel’ are ‘Aman’ (አማን) and ‘El’ (ኤል) ፥ the meaning is ‘peaceful unity with the almighty lord’/ Ibid.

The title applied by the apostle Matthew to the Messiah, born of the Virgin, “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Mat 1:23)

አማኑኤል ~Emmanuel, Immanuel: አማኑ ኤል፣ አማነ ኤል፣ የአምላክ ሰላም፣ የእግዚአብሔር እርቅ፣ የጌታ አንድነት ማለት ነው።

‘አማነ’ እና ’ኤል’ ከሚሉ ሁለት ቃላት የተመሠረተ ስም ነው።

v    አማኑኤል /Emmanuel: በአዲስ ኪዳን የትንቢቱን መፈጸም ሲያበስር፥“እነሆ፥ ድንግል ትፀንሳለች ልጅም ትወልዳለች፥ ስሙንም አማኑኤል ይሉታል የተባለው ይፈጸም ዘንድ ይህ ሁሉ ሆኖአል፥ ትርጓሜውም። እግዚአብሔር ከእኛ ጋር የሚል ነው” (ማቴ 1፡23)
