Abishai ~ አቢሳ: “Abishai” means father of a gift / SBD, (1 ሳሙ 26:6)

The name ‘Abishag’ is derived from two words ‘Abe’ (አበ) and ‘Shega’ (ሸጋ) ፥ the meaning is ‘great beauty’. It has the same meaning as ‘Abigail’/ Ibid.

A young woman of Shunem, distinguished for her beauty. She was chosen to minister to David in his old age. She became his wife, “...found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.” (1 kin 1:3, 4, 15)
